#ALSC12 Planning for Excellence: Developing Best Practices for Youth Services

Listening to this information-packed session presented by Celia Huffman, Youth Services Manager at the Cuyahoga County Public Library.  So far this idea stands out to me the most: children’s librarians are educators, and as such, we need to be aware of child development and learning theories.  She recommends we all read “The Public Children’s Librarian as Educator” by Elizabeth Danley, in the March/April 2003 issue of Public Libraries.  Will do, Celia!
